schumer always takes the most pandering, lowest common denominator, man on the street position on any important issue that'll get him in front of tv cameras. sadly, it seems to work.

Most successful politicians, that is those that get reelected, succeed because they have learned what does and what does not work. Telling people they have simple, painless answers to difficult questions works; telling them they must endure substantial pain and suffering, and undergo a change in lifestyle, does not.
