When I see in Green Car Congress a scooter from India that can run on ANG (Adsorbed Natural Gas) -- then think of disposable lighters -- I do wonder whether it would be possible to create such a re-fueling infrastructure at convenient bio-generation stations and replace millions of polluting two and now four-stroke scooters running on petrol?

jcwinnie,
there are compressors available that can take natural gas at line pressure from a home delivery line and compress gas enough to load up the LNG cannisters. The current price is about $3500 US. I don't know how much time this takes per vehicle., or the original conversion cost.

Sooner or later we will have more shut-offs like the two OPEC embargos in the 1970's. If our fearless leader decides to attack another nation in a war of aggression like Iraq its guaranteed, and the increasing competition for oil and gasoline in the world markets suggests it won't be too long before everyone experiences shortages.. Having a gas compressor at home or in a business may be the solution that will prevent this kind of cut-off from being totally paralysing, so it might be great insurance for a family or a business that needs guaranteed transportation fuel.
