Doesn't this show ACCC are on the same wavelength as the noteworthy Cambridge Energy Research Associates? Namely that high petrol prices are mainly due to lack of refining capacity.
I assume Pt Stanvac will require a complete makeover. This puts a stick up those who say Adelaide is living in the past. They will not only get a desal plant next door but possibly the last oil refinery ever built.
It is unlikely to be the last oil refinery ever built - there is a lot of construction in the middle east, and this trend could continue for a while, with refining capacity shifting to where the remaining oil is...
