I have been following your technical discription all along, and am wondering if you are going to get into the Horizontal drilling mode? I read a blurb the other day that, that was the main reason for Saddam going into Kuwait in the late (very late) 80s like 1989, it was claimed that Kuwait was drilling wells right on the border and using horizontal techniques to get into Iraqs oil fields. I took it with a grain of salt, but there might just have been a grain of truth in it.

Horizontal drilling has taken off in the last decade. I need to go back and check when it first became a serious practice in the field. (The joys of a Google that reminds me that Rospo Mare was drilled in January 1982). But I suspect it may be a month or two before I get to write about it, since I need to go through the problems of more conventional production first. In the meantime you might want to visit
