Very interesting tutorial, as usual!

A couple of questions:

1) What type of well spacing is typically required to provide a reasonably accurate picture of the size and configuration of the oil-bearing formation?

2) In a large field, are all the wells production wells or reinjection wells, or are some wells purposely put in solely for the purpose of control, such as for the monitoring of the behavior of the field, using the various techniques you described, as extraction proceeds over time?

I am going to post on the overall field structures next time (but with it being Thanksgiving that may be a couple of weeks) and in regard to question 2 it depends where you are.  For example in the older fields almost all the wells were production, but if you look at modern practice in Saudi Arabia, for example, they are putting in water injection wells as a part of the initial field development.
