Thanks, ianqui. Just knowing that the DoD is "the largest single consumer of fuel in the United States" somehow makes me sleep easier at night. As for my waking hours....
Wow. The military totally dwarfs the whole rest of the government. I wanted to know what this is in barrels per day. I took at look at the numbers here, and came up with an approximate figure for US military oil usage of 350,000 barrels per day.
Remember when the army traveled on its stomach?  Now it gulps oil.
