This post is a stinging indictment of capitalism. We've gone mad in search of energy no matter how much destruction we do to life on planet earth.
Capitalism? You suggest we wouldn't be doing the same thing under communism or feudalism or whatever other economic arrangement you fancy? The problem isn't capitalism. The problem is we've got to make some large and quick psychological adjustments, because our tools have got the better of us.
Nor can we give up our tools. We just have to learn to be sane in our use of them. It's tough work, but we damn well better be able to do it.
