Once again Aussies are finding new and novel ways to move carbon stored deep underground into the atmosphere. Note the carbon connection with metals..we supply both iron ore and coke for others to work on, but at home we use coal seam methane to power alumina and aluminium refining. Less digging and more metals recycling = less carbon if only someone higher up would put a price on carbon.

Next someone will point out that the Arkaroola area is home to both uranium deposits and a proposed geothermal site. However it seems Premier Rann is softening so it could end up that park areas are excised much as the Kakadu boundary was redrawn to skirt around Ranger.
