Good presentation by Matt-says it all. Too bad he couldn't have been microphoned better for audio clarity.

I agree with his assessment that natgas should sell for a premium to oil. IMO, giant and global strategic reserves of I-NPK can help meet this postPeak goal, and also serve as a temporary societal resiliency buffer as we ramp to full-on O-NPK recycling for Optimal Overshoot Decline. Depleting resources are a terrible thing to waste.

Recall that Borlaug says that it is 'Game Over' without I-NPK.

I think a depletion protocol is needed for domestic gas reserves in every producing country along with some kind of priority system. I was surprised to learn that US gas fired electrical generation is growing faster in absolute terms than new wind power. That factoid doesn't seem to get mentioned by the wind lobby. Need electricity to keep those plasma TVs going though. I guess people of the future can figure out how to make nitrogen fertiliser for millions of acres of cereal crops.

Hello Boof,

Your quote: "Need electricity to keep those plasma TVs going though."

We are much more the 'primitive caveman' here in my Asphaltistan as these are very popular for wasting mucho BTUs during our mild winter:

The MPP of winter fashion here is to be basking in the steaming bubbles of your outdoor heated spa, while eye movement is constantly shifting between the outside big screen tv, the leaping flames of the gas fireplace, the latest trophy wife, or the nearby grounds of the private golf course.
